CPD Masterclass Symposium, Maribor, March 25-30, 2012

The final symposium of the project took place in Maribor, Slovenia in March 25th ΓΆ€“ 30th, 2012. The purpose of this CPD masterclass symposium was to bring together all of the different aspects and knowledge gained from the previous five symposium to fully prepare the project partners to conduct their respective CPD accreditation audits on their selected companies in the June, 2012.

Day 1 of the symposium focused on refreshing the partners on the end to end process of guiding an organisation to achieve the CPD Accredited Employer standard. This was followed by a session on the importance of linking an organisation's CPD strategy with their corporate strategy. The group was briefed on the various methods used to evaluate the key strategic issues for a client organisation and formulate suggestions as to how the CPD framework will assist a client organisation in achieving their business goals.

Day 2 and 3 of the symposium were dedicated to perfecting the partner's auditing skills so that they will be able to successfully conduct a CPD accreditation audit of their selected organisation in June, 2012. This was achieved by conducting a number of role playing exercises in which all partners could practice their auditing skills in real life setting. These role playing sessions allowed for instant feedback and group discussion on best practice auditing skills.

Day 4 marked the end of the symposium. The group discussed future dissemination opportunities for the project as well as a sustainability plan for the accreditation standard after the life of the project. To tie in with this sustainability plan, the group brainstormed ideas and the design of the brochure for the recommended European CPD Accreditation standard that will follow the conclusion of the project.

The symposium was a big success with each partner left fully equipped to conduct their respective CPD accreditation audits in June, 2012.
